The Fylely app

Fylely installs from your browser. There is no download and no app store: your browser adds a Fylely icon and opens Fylely in a window of its own. It is the same Fylely as the website, with the same account and the same matters, and it updates itself whenever the website does.

It installs on iPhone and iPad, Android, Windows, Mac and Chromebook. On a phone it pairs well with Court day: today's hearings on one page, with the people to call, which you can keep on the phone for a courthouse with no signal.

Install

iPhone and iPad

Works in Safari. On iOS 16.4 or later, Chrome and Edge too.

Open fylely.com in Safari.
Tap Share (the square with an arrow pointing up).
Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

The app keeps its own sign-in, separate from Safari, so you sign in once after adding it. If you use two-factor sign-in you will be asked for a code, because to your phone the app is a new browser.

Android phones and tablets

Works in Chrome, Edge or Samsung Internet.

Open fylely.com in Chrome, Edge or Samsung Internet.
Tap Install when Fylely offers it, or open the browser menu (⋮) and tap Install app or Add to Home screen.

Windows

Works in Chrome or Edge.

Open fylely.com in Chrome or Edge.
Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar. Or open the browser menu and choose Install Fylely (in Edge it is under Apps).

Mac

Works in Chrome or Edge, or Safari on macOS Sonoma (14) or later.

In Chrome or Edge: open fylely.com and click the install icon at the right end of the address bar.
In Safari: open fylely.com, then choose File → Add to Dock.

Chromebook

Works in Chrome.

Open fylely.com in Chrome.
Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, or open the menu (⋮) and choose Install Fylely.

Firefox on Windows, Mac and Linux cannot install websites as apps. Fylely works the same in the browser.

Uninstall

A website cannot remove an app from your device, so this is done on the device itself. It takes a few seconds, and your matters are not affected: they are kept on Fylely's servers, not in the app. Afterwards, use Remove from this browser below to clear what the app kept.

iPhone and iPad

Touch and hold the Fylely icon on your home screen.
Tap Remove App or Delete Bookmark (the wording depends on your iOS version).
Confirm.

Android phones and tablets

Touch and hold the Fylely icon.
Tap Uninstall, or App info and then Uninstall.

Windows

Open Fylely.
Click the menu (⋮ or ⋯) at the top right of the Fylely window and choose Uninstall Fylely.
Or: Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Fylely → Uninstall.

Mac

Installed from Chrome or Edge: open Fylely, click the menu (⋮ or ⋯) at the top right of its window, and choose Uninstall Fylely.
Installed from Safari: in Finder, open the Applications folder inside your home folder and move Fylely to the Trash.

Chromebook

Right-click the Fylely icon in the launcher or on the shelf.
Choose Uninstall, then confirm.

Is it safe for my computer?

Nothing is downloaded or run outside your browser. There is no installer and no program file, so nothing asks for administrator permission, nothing starts when your computer starts, and nothing can change your system's settings.
It stays inside your browser's protections, the same ones every website runs under. The background helper that shows the offline page sees only fylely.com's own pages.
It asks for nothing. No notifications, location, camera, microphone or contacts.
It is idle while Fylely is closed. Nothing syncs or runs in the background.
It keeps very little, listed below, and removing it leaves nothing behind.

What it keeps on your device

A "You are offline" page: Shown instead of an error when there is no connection, with the files it needs to display. It holds nothing about you or your clients, and is replaced each time Fylely updates. It is set up only for people who sign in; visiting fylely.com without signing in keeps nothing.
The Court day page, only if you turn it on: Off unless you switch on "Keep this page on this device" on the Court day page, on that device. Then that one page is kept, which includes hearing times, courts, and client names and phone numbers. It is deleted when you sign out or turn the switch off. A copy older than 7 days is never shown, and is deleted the next time Fylely opens. No other page is ever kept.

Remove from this browser

Deletes what the app keeps in this browser: the offline page and its files, the saved Court day page if you turned that on, and the background helper that shows the offline page. Your matters, documents and account are not touched.

Checking this browser.

If you sign in to Fylely in this browser again, the offline helper is set up again. It holds nothing about your clients unless you turn on Court day offline.
