Your first day, by role
The firm's owner gives each person a role when inviting them, and can change it later under Organization. The role decides which pages open. Below is what each one is for and the few pages its day is made of. Everything else is in the menu on the left, and the box at the top of every page answers “how do I…” with the steps for your role.
Attorney
Everything on the firm’s matters, time and billing. Only the team, the plan and the firm’s own account stay with the owner.
- Matters
- Every case, estate and guardianship, open and closed. Open one to see its dates, documents, people and notes.
- Calendar
- Hearings, deadlines and meetings across every matter.
- Tasks
- Your to-do list, and the rest of the firm’s.
- Time
- Log hours against a matter, or start the timer at the top of any page.
- Invoices
- Drafts, sent and paid. Record a payment on the invoice it pays.
Paralegal
The working side of every file: dates, documents, people, letters, messages and tasks. Invoices, trust and the firm’s figures are not part of this role.
- Matters
- Every case, estate and guardianship, open and closed. Open one to see its dates, documents, people and notes.
- Documents
- Every document on every matter: still needed, received or filed.
- Tasks
- Your to-do list, and the rest of the firm’s.
- Calendar
- Hearings, deadlines and meetings across every matter.
- Time
- Log hours against a matter, or start the timer at the top of any page.
Billing
The money side: time, invoices, payments, who owes the firm, and the trust ledger. Matter files are not part of this role, so a matter’s documents, notes and messages do not open.
- Time
- Log hours against a matter, or start the timer at the top of any page.
- Invoices
- Drafts, sent and paid. Record a payment on the invoice it pays.
- Who owes you
- Every unpaid balance, by client, oldest first.
- Trust ledger
- Client money held in trust, per client. Entries are added from the client’s own page.
- Trust reconciliation
- Tick the ledger against each bank statement and print the report.
Read only
Looking, not changing: matters, the calendar and the firm’s figures can all be read. Nothing can be added, edited or deleted from a read-only account.

Owner
Everything an attorney has, plus the team, the plan and the firm's own account.
